Pick up from the hotel and proceed to Visit the ”Grand Mosque” the biggest in Oman with the largest chandelier in the world. A spectatle view of the mosque with beautiful garden and second largest carpet in the world —- Visiting the “Old fish market” in Muttrah Corniche (Port) and to the “Muttrah Souq” where you can find more than 200 hundred shops with hidden Omani Ornaments, clothes, frankincense, Gold, silver, dates and much more —- Then proceed to “Bait Al Zubair Museum”.
This two-story building houses information regarding the Al Busaidi dynasty, with portraits of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and some of his predecessors. There are also four galleries on the ground floor that exhibit excellent examples of khanjar (Omani dagger), male and female attire, traditional swords and firearms, antique jewellery and household articles.
Then —- Visit “Al Alam Palace” which is the ceremonial palace of His Majesty the Sultan. It is surrounded by the “Al Jalali and Al Mirani” forts. Both forts were built in the 16th century around the time of the Portuguese invasion of Muscat. Former Sultan’s used to live in a house called Bait Al Alam which was demolished in the early 70s to build this new Palace in its place to be the official residence of the Sultan of Oman. A small photo stop and then —- visit to “Bustan Palace” which was First opened in 1985, the hotel opened to host the Gulf Cooperation Council Summit that year. Designed to represent Oman culture and hospitality at the highest level.—- proceed to “Qurum Beach” known as the finest beach in Oman.
At Qurum beach you have variety of restaurant where you can take your lunch in with the beautiful water front. After lunch then —- Visit to the biggest shopping mall in Oman known as Mall of Oman. where you can see variety of brands and shopping stores. After some time back to the hotel.
Note: For entering Grand Mosque Visitors are required to dress appropriately (no shorts or uncovered arms, while women are required to cover their heads) and to remove their shoes before entering either prayer hall. Under-10 years are not allowed into the main prayer hall.
